For centuries St Nicholas Church, together with it’s Nave, has been a gathering place for people from Grosmont and surrounding areas to come together for church services and community events.
The Nave is the focus for many community activities including a monthly market, concerts, children’s parties, weddings, funerals and functions including Harvest Lunches, and various charity events.
Currently, the main entrance is via several steep steps which, for some people, is a difficult or even impossible route. To ensure everyone can access all the functions the Church and Nave have to offer we intend to provide an Easy Access Pathway from the top gate of the churchyard running through to the West door.
Plans have been drawn up and approved and, with the help and support of Grosmont Together, we are about to start a fund-raising campaign for this much-needed facility.
