Poppies in Grosmont
Wouldn’t it be nice if….?
We have all said these words at some time or other and this time it was my turn.
“Wouldn’t it be nice if we could do something to mark the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day?
One thing you can be sure of is that if you say these words in Grosmont you will not be on your own.
Around the beginning of September in Craft Club the poppy making began in earnest with a huge variety of poppies being “crafted”. Poppy making soon became an obsession with many of us and before long the wider Grosmont community were involved.
Following a very successful workshop during half term, we now have a number of poppy displays in the village which also include children’s poems.

Please come and see out efforts; in the Nave, Church and outside the Town Hall. Also, if you have someone that you wish to remember, you can add a name or photograph to the display on the right hand pillar.
