Maggie’s Memorial Gate

On 19^th January 2019 a group of people from Grosmont gathered at the castle for an informal celebration of the hanging of the gate.  The money for the gate was raised at a supper held in the Nave in April 2016 along with a very generous donation from Maggie’s family.
It was created from a design based on Helen Marshall’s millennium castle image and Peter Downey’s designs.  It was made at Downey Engineering Ltd in Pontrilas.
It now hangs elegantly at the entrance to the castle.
