LATEST UPDATE ON THE CHURCH LINK

CHURCH LINK MAGAZINE for The Grosmont Group of Parishes

Dear Church Link subscriber,

The coronavirus situation has meant that we have been unable to produce your magazine in printed form for the last three months.

Difficulties with printing and distribution under the ‘lock down’ regulations and contamination issues, together with some volunteers needing to self-isolate, led to the decision being made with Rev Gaynor to suspend printing until it could safely be continued. Indeed, many of the printed copies for April still remain uncollected/undelivered for these very reasons.

In the interim I have continued to produce and edit the magazine monthly, and this has been uploaded onto the St Nicholas section of the Grosmont Village website and also sent in electronic form to representatives from the other villages for email distribution. Thank you for all the very positive feedback.

Naturally the circumstances have meant that we have had very few events to report and the diary has been bare. Thank you to all those who have kindly contributed interesting articles, they have been much appreciated.

Of course, your subscription and the revenue from those who advertise goods and services in the magazine, pay for the printing costs. Because we have had three months without a printed copy, your subscription fee will be carried over for the first three months of next year. This means that your next year’s subs will not be due until the end of March.

Several people who take the Church Link have not yet paid for this year. If you have been receiving/collecting a copy but have neglected to pay please do so as soon as possible by your usual means. We are soon to have a new treasurer and would like to help her have a smooth start by having everyone up to date with payment when she takes over.

If all goes to plan, we shall resume with a printed magazine for August, by which time we may have further relaxation of the government measures and hopefully some future community events to tell you about. I am happy to receive your family notices, content, photos, feedback etc for inclusion. Just send to gilliy@fresto.net and I will do my best to find space for them.

Thank you for your understanding in these difficult times and for your continued support of our publication.

Best wishes,

                         Gilliy Burgess
