CLERK AND RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL OFFICER
GROSMONT FAWR COMMUNITY COUNCIL
The Community Council is looking for an enthusiastic, efficient and self-motivated person to fill the role of Clerk to the Council and Responsible Financial Officer. This is a part time opportunity to work with the Community council with the flexibility to work from home.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of local government law and financial procedures however training is available. Good computer literacy is required as well as experience in taking meeting Minutes and drawing up Agenda.
Ideally the applicant will hold or be willing to work towards gaining the Certificate in local council administration (CiLCA) (Wales).
As Proper officer to the Council the successful candidate will be under a statutory duty to carry out all the council’s functions, in particular to serve or issue notifications required by law.
They will be responsible for ensuring that the instructions of the Council in connection with its functions are carried out. They will also be required to assist in the formation of overall policies to be followed in respect of the council’s functions.
The post holder will be accountable to the council for effective management of it’s resources and will be required to report to the council when they are required.
As Responsible Financial Officer they will be responsible for all financial records of the Council and careful and timely administration of it’s finances.
The Council holds bi-monthly council meetings on the second Monday of the month and the successful applicant will be required to start immediately.
