Longtown and District Historical Society – next event on Monday 7 November

A talk that might be of interest locally to people outside Longtown…

Andy Johnson: The Life and Times of Sir John Oldcastle
Herefordian John Oldcastle was a supporter of the crown in the war against Owain Glyndwr. His support for the Lollard church reformers led to a heresy conviction, rebellion and hiding, probably in the Olchon Valley. He was caught and executed in 1417.

Monday 7 November, Longtown Village Hall, 7.30pm.
Membership costs £10, guests £3.
