Ewyas Harold and Rowlestone Walk

Start Temple Bar Inn, Ewyas Harold, HR2 0EU.

Walk 7 miles, moderate, OS Explorer OL13. From Temple Bar Inn, right past Dog Inn. In 200m, left up steps; skirt left of castle mound. Pass sheds; footpath (yellow arrows/YA) west for 1¼ miles via west corner of Prior’s Wood to Platch Farm (Plash on OS map). Left up drive (farmer’s preference) to road. Right; left at Ball’s Cross (“Rowlestone”); in 100m, left (style). Footpath SE to Wigga; on to road. In ¼ mile, right on footpath SE to Rowlestone church. Cross road below Church; through gate (YA); down field, bearing left to cross Cwm Brook. SE along brook for ¾ mile to Vroe; left up track to road. Right past Rowlestone Park Farm; in 400m, ahead down green lane; in 300m, left along River Monnow. In 500m, left uphill to house and road. Right to Pontrilas; cross B4347; in 40m, left (fingerpost) across Dulas Brook; left (Herefordshire Trail) to Ewyas Harold.
