GROW GROSMONT

Grow is a community gardening group based in Grosmont. Since 2009 we have cultivated our communally run allotment in a field outside the village. Over the years we have built a large polytunnel, a shed and a water supply. We grow fruit and vegetables all year round, from artichokes to aubergines, cavolo nero to courgettes, raspberries to rhubarb, mange-tout to prizewinning marrows…

We hold weekend working parties throughout the year, where we concentrate on particular seasonal tasks and divide up responsibilities for the season. In summer these are quite often followed by barbecues!

We are open to considering new members, although the group is not looking to increase dramatically.
