Two alerts have been received from the Gwent Police.

THEFT OF SHEEP

This is an important message from [GWENT POLICE HEADQUARTERS ALERT SYSTEM]

Farmers, please note since January 2020 there has been approx. 200 sheep missing, believed stolen, reported to Gwent Police.

Please be vigilant at all times, ensure gates are locked and secure, fencing checked and in good condition.  Where possible check livestock daily.  If livestock is being kept in isolated areas, keep them away from main roads and please consider using wildlife cameras as additional security. 

Please report all incidents regarding livestock (no matter how small) to Gwent Police on either 101 or email contact@gwent.pnn.police.uk

UNLAWFUL SHEEP SLAUGHTER – Llandewi Skirrid area.

This is an important message from [GWENT POLICE HEADQUARTERS ALERT SYSTEM]

Between 10.30pm and 10.45 pm last night, (Sunday 15th March) vehicle lights were seen in a field full of sheep acting suspiciously.   This morning (Monday 15th March) the farmer on checking his sheep has discovered one deceased with its throat cut.   This has been crimed with Gwent Police.  Incident number 70 16/03/20 – Niche 2*93654
