Clubs and Activities

All Clubs and Activities listed below are not necessarily operating at present due to Covid restrictions.  Please check.


 Bellringing

IMG_2611St Nicholas Church has a ring of six bells which are rung for festival services, weddings and funerals etc. The ringers practise on the first Tuesday of the month (together with a fifth Tuesday, if there is one) from 7.30 – 9.00 pm. We are always looking for newcomers to join the group, whether you are an experienced ringer or a total novice – just turn up on the Tuesday evening.


 Bridge Club

IMG_2626The Bridge Club meets on Monday afternoons in the Town Hall in the winter months and Wednesday evenings in the Angel Inn in the summer (please see the calendar for times etc.)  New members are always welcome.  For more information telephone:  01981 240301.


 Boules

Les Grosmonts are in the Marches Petanque League, Division 1. Their home venue is The Angel and they play on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm from April until September. If you are aged 13+ and are interested in playing or learning the game you could go along. Boules can be provided. Martin Hinds can be contacted for further information: hinds.mb@gmail.com


 Darts

IMG_2597The Angel darts team play in the winter months in the South Hereford Darts League. The matches are on a Monday evening at 8.30pm. If you might like to be considered for the team you must be aged 16+ and bring along your own darts.  For more information, contact Sam Harper 07814158930.


Gardening Club

IMG_2604Grosmont and District Gardening Club meets on the first Tuesday of every month (except January and August) usually at Grosmont Town Hall. Meetings start at 7.30pm.  New members are welcomed, so please either turn up to an event, or if you prefer please make contact and introduce yourself before coming.

 Book Group

IMG_2858The Book Group has informal meetings at 7.30pm on the first Monday of the month in the Angel Inn. A wide variety of books (details in the calendar) are chosen by the members.  If you are interested, just turn up or contact:


Messy Church

IMG_2871Messy Church provides craft work for young children and their parents/carers, followed by a Bible story, Christian songs and a shared two-course meal.  There is no charge.  Meetings take place from 3.45pm – 5.30pm in Skenfrith Parish Hall usually on the second Tuesday of each month (see calendar for actual dates).
